If someone were to ask me about my experience in Korea this time, I would say it was the most unforgettable Korean journey for me. Despite having been to Korea many times before, without a doubt, this trip was the most exhilarating. It marked my first visit to cities in Korea other than Seoul. Firstly, the location of International Congress of Diabetes and Metabolism was my favorite. Gyeongju is a city rich in historical and cultural heritage. Besides attending academic meetings, I also visited the World Cultural Heritage site, Bulguksa Temple (佛国寺). Regarding the experiences within the conference venue, I believe it was truly an international academic feast. Not only did I learn from academic presentations by scholars from various countries, including Korea, but I also gained insights from presentations by scholars from China, notably one from Peking University that left a deep impression on me. Additionally, there was increased academic exchange between my representation of the University of Science and Technology of China and Peking University. Beyond that, the cuisine at the venue vividly showcased Korea's coastal food culture. Lastly, when leaving the venue, the conference staff assisted us by providing a shuttle from the venue to the train station. Overall, the experience of this conference was unforgettable, and I look forward to meeting again in 2024.
