Greetings,
I am Chul-Hee Kim, serving as the 43rd President of the Korean Diabetes Association.
As we welcome the New Year 2026, the Year of the Red Horse, we wish all members of the Association and your families good health and happiness.
Since its founding in 1968, the Korean Diabetes Association has grown into one of the leading academic societies in Korea, with approximately 4,000 active members, as it looks ahead to its 60th anniversary and strives to advance as a world-class association. We extend our gratitude and respect to the former Presidents, Chairmen, and other officers who have devotedly led the Association, as well as to all our members. As I humbly assume the important responsibility of President, I feel both honored and deeply aware of the weight of this role.
We are moving forward with the mission of “leading a world free from diabetes” toward the vision of becoming “a global leader that sets international standards in diabetes research and care.” However, the rapid rise in diabetes prevalence has yet to slow, and both domestic and international healthcare environments remain challenging, suggesting that the road ahead will be long and difficult. Nevertheless, no matter how great the challenges may be, we firmly believe that we can overcome them through the active participation and collaboration of our members.
As President, I will work closely with Chairman Kim Sung-rae, the Board of Directors, and all officers to do my utmost to advance the Association step by step toward its mission and vision.
In 2026, the Year of the Red Horse, we ask you to join us on a great journey to deliver hope to people with diabetes in Korea and around the world.
Thank you.
President
43rd President of Korean Diabetes Association
Chul-Hee Kim
